Click on a question to read the answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>How often should I come for a check-up?<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For most people, once or twice a year is enough. Together, we\u2019ll decide what\u2019s right for your teeth.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>I\u2019m nervous about the dentist. What can I do?<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let us know when you book your appointment. We\u2019ll set aside extra time, explain each step beforehand and agree on a stop signal with you. You stay in control.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>From what age can my child come?<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As soon as their first teeth appear, your child is very welcome. Feel free to bring them along to a parent\u2019s appointment first, so they can get used to us.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What should I be aware of after a treatment?<\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-vinkjes\">\n<li><strong>After a local anaesthetic:<\/strong> don\u2019t eat or drink anything hot until the numbness has worn off, usually after 2 to 3 hours. This stops you from accidentally biting your cheek, lip or tongue, or burning yourself. Take extra care with children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>After a filling:<\/strong> a white filling sets hard straight away, so you can eat again as soon as the anaesthetic has worn off. The tooth may be sensitive to hot and cold for a few days; this is normal. If your bite still feels too high after a day, give us a call and we\u2019ll adjust it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>After an extraction:<\/strong> bite firmly on the gauze for 10 to 20 minutes. For the first 24 hours, don\u2019t rinse, smoke, drink alcohol or exercise. Eat soft, lukewarm food and chew on the other side. Brush as normal, but gently around the wound. Still bleeding? Bite on a clean, rolled-up piece of gauze or a cotton handkerchief for 20 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pain:<\/strong> a painkiller such as paracetamol usually works well. Always follow the instructions on the leaflet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Call us if bleeding doesn\u2019t stop, if the pain gets worse rather than better after a few days, or if you have a swollen cheek or a fever.
